What are the chances for a big crowd at 7:30 in the morning? A few students waiting for their buses to get to college? It could be usual vegetable or flower vendors getting ready to start their business. Or maybe it could be the early morning first-day first show of a popular hero’s movie. However, have you ever heard of a 7 am-crowd for a food item and more so for a Biryani? Yes, you heard it right. This happens every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday at the Anand Dum Biryani restaurant located in Hoskote.
Functioning only 3 days a week, this restaurant opens at 6:30 am every day of its functioning. There is a likelihood that the 200kg of Biryani which is prepared would be exhausted by the time the clock ticks 8:30 am. Although this joint is a little far from the city, it is easy to find the route to this restaurant.
It is located very close to the Hoskote Police Station and if you are traveling from KR Puram, the last exit from the flyover once you reach Hoskote will help you arrive at your destination.
Mutton Biryani
A menu card is not required for this restaurant. The items on offer here are very straightforward. Mutton Biryani, Chicken and Paya (Mutton Soup). A full plate of Mutton Biryani would cost you Rs 190 while if you decide to remove 50% of Biryani off your plate, you will have to shell out Rs 150. One plate of chicken costs Rs 60 while the Paya, Lime, and Raitha can be availed free of cost.
Biryani Breakfast
Anand Dum Biryani was established 15 years ago and the restaurant is still maintaining the same infrastructure. It is a tiny restaurant with stone slabs placed around on which you can place your plate (eco-friendly) of biryani. Seating arrangements are minimal and since there is a huge demand for this biryani, the crowd is bound to be very high. There are separate counters for takeaways and self-service and one of the members from the hotel would be serving the Paya close to the counter.
Since it is early morning, the temperatures would be low and this atmosphere would be perfect to gorge on your Biryani. Most importantly, having Mutton Biryani for breakfast is one experience you wouldn’t forget in your life.
Specialty
Anand Dum Biryani serves one of the best Biryanis in the city. The quantity is sufficient and the amount of meat on each plate of your biryani will make sure you would have had a King’s breakfast. However, the experience that this serving of flavored rice would give to your taste buds is something that you will remember for a very long time.
More of a pulao, this biryani is perfectly spiced and is extremely aromatic. It goes perfectly well with a twist of lime and the unlimited raitha on offer. Moreover, if you can help yourselves with a glass of Paya now and then, your experience would be all the more accentuated.
