No one is spared on social media. No, not even God. Here is what Sachin Tendulkar told to a news channel after India managed to scrape through a last-over victory against minnows Afghanistan.
“I felt slightly disappointed, it could have been much better. I was also not happy with the partnership between Kedar and Dhoni, it was very slow. We batted 34 overs of spin bowling and scored 119 runs. This was one area where we didn’t look comfortable at all. There was no positive intent”
These were the comments which triggered yet another war on social media. And this time, it was Sachin Tendulkar on the receiving end. MS Dhoni’s online brigade was unhappy with the comments made by the “Master Blaster” on the man who had managed to glorify Sachin’s career with a World Cup Trophy.
In the game against Afghanistan, MS Dhoni walked to the crease in the 27th over when the team was launching itself for a flourish at the end. However, after Virat’s dismissal, MS Dhoni was expected to carry the burden but unfortunately, the 37-year-old failed to come to the party. He managed to score 28 runs off 52 deliveries before he was stumped out of Rashid Khan’s bowling.
MS Dhoni did have an off-day and Sachin Tendulkar was right in providing his thoughts after the game. Sachin said that he was unhappy with Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni’s partnership and felt that the duo must have shown more intent against the Afghan spinners. The comments did make perfect sense and even MS Dhoni himself might have agreed to Sachin’s comments.
However, the so-called online fanatics of MS Dhoni felt these comments by Sachin were targeted against Dhoni and hence, they involved Sachin Tendulkar in a number of unacceptable memes on social media.
It is on these days that the unfortunate side of social media shows up. Constructive criticism is always welcome but trolling someone for his comments just because you like someone else is purely nonsensical.
@sachin_rt @sachin_rt i thought that you forgot your own innings vs Bangladesh 100th century you played very bad inning so that Bangladesh won the match easily.
This is intent so called god is talking.Take look Apart from his tons, how many matches he saved and won#sachin #dhoni— डॉ. R B. JM (@RBMeEn) June 26, 2019
If this world cup won by india credit will go to kohli as captain. In the same way dhoni gave two WCs, and sachin zero. Though sachin has records but fame and name is of dhoni. And hold on kohli is coming with bullet speed to takeover sachin. #sachin #dhoni

Difference between Dhoni n Sachin in Ground
if #Sachin has been spending 10 balls to reach 95 to 100, he would be taken 95runs within 80 balls. But #Dhoni does not reach 100 even in dream. He will out before 30runs after spend 60 balls

I am sure even @msdhoni would be disappointed in his fans for being illogical. He himself is so smart and understands and maybe himself realizes the fact that he was poor against AFG but bcz ppl want to banter they will say anything.#Dhoni #Sachin

#Sachin . Rahane was sacked as ODI player because he couldn't rotate strikes as said by #Dhoni . Now Dhoni too couldn't .What will @msdhoni will do to himself.

Sachin is a commentator, it is his job to express his views based on his knowledge (which is more than all of us).
Whenever any other ex cricketer like Gavaskar criticizes anyone for strike rate do we remind him about his career.
Why different treatment to #Sachin? #Dhoni pic.twitter.com/xe4nwK4kQ7— Bharat Army (@BhartArmy) June 25, 2019
