The Indian Premier League is almost close to its Climax. However, in these crucial moments, there will be a lot of exodus of some of the biggest international players before the season concludes. Most of the overseas players except New Zealand’s are set to leave the tournament on the date set by their respective boards. This is because of the World Cup which is knocking on the doors.
Before the Indian Premier League was started this year, a lot was being talked about the availability of the foreign players. When the World Cup is around the corner it is only fair that all the boards will want their players to be fresh and fit for the event. Therefore, IPL teams will be left disturbed to replace around 18 of the outgoing cricketers. The teams like England, Australia, South Africa, and Bangladesh have called their players back by the first week of May to join national camps.
Now let us list out the players from each team who would be missing out from the ongoing IPL
Royal Challengers Bangalore
- Moeen Ali – England
- Marcus Stoinis – Australia
- Dale Steyn – South Africa
When it was all going good Royal Challengers Bangalore will take a massive blow over the next week. As for Moeen Ali and Marcus Stoinis who is the team’s fourth and fifth highest-scorers so far. The English all-rounder played his final match of the season last Wednesday, against KXIP in Bengaluru. Moeen Ali expressed his disappointment at having to leave the team at such a crucial time. Moreover, Dale Steyn, who gave teeth to the RCB bowling unit, will also be leaving soon to join his South African camp. Steyn was earlier named as a replacement to injured Nathan Coulter-Nile.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
- David Warner – Australia
- Jonny Bairstow – England
- Shakib al Hasan – Bangladesh
A team that has the most successful partnership of the season. David Warner and Jonny Bairstow’s opening stand for SRH has produced a massive 967 runs in 10 matches. This includes nine fifties and two hundred. Exiting of both these batsmen would rattle the SRH batting department. However, Jonny Bairstow is already on his way to England to join the national camp ahead of the Pakistan ODI series, David Warner will return home after the weekend to meet Australia’s 1 May deadline. Including Shakib-al-Hasan who is also set to return to Bangladesh by early May to join his team.
Rajasthan Royals
- Steve Smith – Australia
- Ben Stokes – England
- Jos Buttler – England
- Jofra Archer – England
Already going through a horrific season the Doube Rs are all set to miss 4 important players in there side. Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, and Jofra Acher are all set to leave and join their respected England squad for the upcoming Pakistan series. The new Rajasthan skipper too will head home leaving the team at the hands of Ajinkya Rahane.
Mumbai Indians
- Quinton de Kock – South Africa
- Lasith Malinga – Sri Lanka
- Jason Behrendorff – Australia
Mumbai Indians is going to lose the services of Quinton de Kock. Quinton is the team’s top-scorer with 378 runs, that include three half centuries. Jason Behrendorff will also have to return to join his Australian camp. However, it is not clear of whether Sri Lankan cricket will ask Lasith Malinga to return home before the 12 May final.
Chennai Super Kings
- Faf du Plessis -South Africa
- Imran Tahir – South Africa
The two fellows Southafricans Faf du Plessis and Imran Tahir have not yet given any official confirmation. South Africa’s cricket board have not made any official statement for joining of the duo to the national camp. However, it is unclear about these both players playing further for their following franchise. Adding to the note, Imran Tahir is CSK’s highest wicket-taker with 16 wickets in his 11 outings.
Delhi Capitals
- Kagiso Rabada – South Africa
This year has turned out to be the most successful IPL season for Delhi. Moreover, they stand right above the points table just behind CSK. Therefore, Rabada’s absence could have a massive impact on the team’s composition. South African bowler is also currently Delhi’s most lethal bowler. He has picked 23 wickets in 11 matches and is also currently the purple cap holder.
Kings XI Punjab
- David Miller – South Africa
David Miller is the only player to miss out from the Kings XI squad. However, West Indies cricket board have not yet recalled any of their World Cup-bound players. Westindies upcoming tri-series against Bangladesh and Ireland is going to be scheduled soon. Chris Gayle and Nicolas Pooran are integral parts of the Punjab outfit. If they are to make a serious run for a spot in the final, both stars will be needed in the dressing room.
Kolkata Knight Riders
- Joe Denly – England
KKR struggling to get to the top 4 seems to find no trouble as Joe Denly is the only one who is going to miss out from the squad. Punjab and Kolkata are the two franchises that benefit the most as their playing eleven won’t be affected much.
