BCCI announced the 15 men squad for 2019 cricket world cup on 15th. The 33-year-old Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu missed out on a spot in Team India’s World Cup 2019 squad. A day after Ambati Rayudu was pipped by the “three-dimensional” Vijay Shankar for the upcoming World Cup, he, in his latest social media post on Tuesday, 16 April, said that he has “ordered 3D glasses” to watch the tournament.

Rayudu’s Disappointment

All-rounder Shankar was preferred over the 33-year-old Rayudu for the contentious number four spot in India’s World Cup squad. Everyone was waiting for the first reaction from Rayudu after the team was announced. No one would have expected him to add a bit of humor in it. But, famous for his anger, Rayudu came up with a funny tweet. However, it is unclear what he was hinting at with his tweet, it seemed the remark was given to Chief Selector MSK Prasad’s statement over his selection.

BCCI’s Selection Error?

Disappointment appeared on Rayudu when his name was left out of the squad just a few months after captain Virat Kohli had more or less earmarked him for the number four position. Rayudu featured in 55 one day internationals scoring 1,694 runs at an average of 47.05. However, he has three centuries and 10 half-centuries to his name. Apart from his form, his playing style also got him some criticism. Rayudu generally takes time before finding his flow which the critics say is a sign of lacking intent, something that skipper Virat Kohli looks for in his players.

But Rayudu’s exclusion from the squad not only raised eyebrows of cricket experts but also fans. Additionally, Fans took to Twitter, reacting to his ‘3D’ post.

India, touted as one of the favorites to win the World Cup, will get their campaign underway on June 5 against South Africa, who are expected to announce their squad on April 18
