India Rejoices As Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman Will Return To His Motherland On Friday

We all know about IAF pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Narthan being in Pakistan’s custody and the incident which happened yesterday. In this context, India was praying for the safe return of Abhinandan Narthan. Also, the Pakistan Army had rescued the Commander from the mob and a few soldiers.

Now, In an attempt to de-escalate the rising tension between India and Pakistan, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan told the Pakistan National Assembly on Thursday that Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who is currently in the custody of Pakistani Army officials, will return to India on Friday.

“As a peace gesture, I announce that tomorrow (Friday), and as a first step to open negotiations, Pakistan will be releasing the Indian Air Force officer in our custody,” Imran Khan told the Assembly.

As per the reports, Imran Khan will be calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.

Strongly Worded Demarche to Pakistan

Abhinandan Narthan is in Pakistan’s Custody since Yesterday. In context to videos that showed Commander being beaten up by a mob, India on Wednesday had sent a strongly worded Demarche to Pakistan. It condemned the ‘Vulgar display’ of the injured pilot and demanded his immediate and safe return.

Pakistan Prime Minister told the Assembly that our efforts to de-escalate should not be considered as our weakness. He further said, “I address the Indian government, do not force us for retaliation. We are prepared for any eventuality and response. I beseech India not to force us down the path of war.”
