Geetanjali holds the position of Chairperson and Managing Director of Kirloskar Systems Pvt Ltd, the partner company for all Toyota Joint Ventures in India. Manasi Kirloskar Tata, who is married to Neville Tata, serves as the Vice Chairperson of Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
The many achievements
In 2023, from Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Geetanjali Kirloskar launched their world’s first BS 6 (Stage II) Electrified Flex Fuel Vehicle prototype in Delhi, marking the company’s groundbreaking achievement in green mobility. This prototype represents the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainable automotive solutions.
Aligned with her vision for a sustainable future, Geetanjali co-chairs the Centre for Green Mobility, in collaboration with CII.
To further drive investment, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has signed significant MOUs with the governments of Karnataka and Maharashtra.
Geetanjali has also been invited by esteemed organizations such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Ananta Centre (a joint initiative of CII and the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India), the Bangalore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and others to deliver talks on India-Japan collaboration, partnership opportunities, and key factors driving the success of Brand India.
Committed to India-Japan
Geetanjali Kirloskar is deeply committed to strengthening India-Japan business ties, a partnership that has flourished under her guidance. She plays a vital role in fostering business cooperation between the two nations.
She is known as a key player in the India-Japan business corridor and works closely with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), facilitating the entry of Japanese startups into the Indian market. This initiative not only promotes entrepreneurship but also strengthens cross-border business relations.
In her capacity as Co-Chair of the India-Japan Trade & Business Council, Geetanjali’s influence extends beyond corporate leadership. She also serves on CII’s National Council, playing a critical role in shaping India’s business partnerships with Japan.
In keeping with her dedication to strengthening business ties with Japan, Geetanjali introduced the Kirloskar Scholarship for vocational training in the Japanese language for students at Bangalore City University. In addition to her leadership at Kirloskar Systems Pvt Ltd, Geetanjali also serves on the Boards of Kirloskar Proprietary, Invest Karnataka Forum, and The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP), an independent, public policy think tank, where her insights contribute to policy and business development. Continuing Vikram’s legacy, she also replaced him on the Board of the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design in the USA.
Recipient of the Knight First Class of the Order of the Lion of Finland
Recognized for her 15 years of meritorious service to Finland, Geetanjali Kirloskar was awarded the Knight First Class of the Order of the Lion of Finland in December 2022. She also serves as the Honorary Consul of Finland in Karnataka, further expanding her influence in international diplomacy and business.
