Shenoy Stores

Started with a little bunk around 40 years ago with homemade south Indian snacks, Shenoy stores has grown to become of the favorites among the people of Jayanagar. If you are hungry for something you are not aware of then simply come to this place. Order little samosas, Ambode (Typical south Indian vade) for Rs.3 each – your day is made. Similar to Basavanagudi’s Subbamma store, you can also buy Indian snacks (Chakli, Kodubele, Papad), ready to make mixes, peanuts and more.

The moment we say Jayanagar, the first thing that comes to our mind is Shopping. This list is incomplete without the mention of Cool joint – one of our favorites in Jayanagar. We have been going to this place from our college times, indeed one of the most loved and crowded snack joints of the city. So when you are here, do try their Hot Chocolate Fudge, Faluda, Paneer Sandwich, Tomato Soup, and mouth-watering cheese sandwich.

Thaja Thindi

This is a legendary place that serves lip-smacking south Indian breakfast items in the city. Almost every Bengalurian might have visited this place and everyone has their favorites. Well, we recommend Masala dose with extra butter, Kesari bath, melting Idli, Kharabath, and ahh – the amazing filter coffee.

Muniranganna (owner) says, “Our spices come from KR market and are ground fresh at the premises.” The early morning ride to this hotel and the scrumptious Kaal Soup (Leg Soup) along with Idli and Kaima are enough to make your day.

Snow city – Nearby attraction

Experience Manali, and Shimla in Namma Bengaluru. Visit snow city with your friends or your girlfriend for some great time. You can enjoy snowfall, snow climbing, snow tube sliding, and igloos in 45 minutes. It will be freaking cold inside with temperature maintained inside is -4 to -5 degrees. Explore Basavanagudi

Basavanagudi is one of the oldest areas of Bengaluru located along the borders of Jayanagar. The name ‘Basavanagudi’ makes reference to the Bull Temple and a monolith statue of the Nandi. In fact, Basava (meaning Bull in Kannada) and Gudi (meaning temple in Kannada) and thus the name, ‘Basavanagudi.’ It is a home to voluminous retail businesses, food points, temples, parks, and many other attractions – be it Gandhi Bazaar, VV Puram food street or the famous Bull temple for an instance.
