Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s highly-anticipated film Brahmastra was released in theatres on Friday, September 9. A section of netizens have hailed the stunning visuals, others bashed the film for not living up to the expectations.
Ayan Mukerji’s sci-fi spectacle
Brahmastra is finally in theatres after years of delay. Ayan Mukerji’s sci-fi spectacle is getting mixed reviews for its VFX and the chemistry between lead couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. After watching it viewers are unable to decide whether to praise it wholeheartedly or discard it completely.
Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, the Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva stars Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Mouni Roy, Amitabh Bachchan, and Nagarjuna in key roles. In the past few days, the makers of the Brahmastra left no stone unturned to promote the film, be it by visiting temples or giving press interviews in different states. Now, moviegoers have begun to flock to the theatres to watch Ayan Mukerji’s most ambitious project.
Talking about the reactions of moviegoers who had the opportunity to watch morning shows of Brahmastra, there’s been a mixed response to the film so far. Many took to Twitter to share their review of the film and while some have hailed the stunning visual effects, others have mentioned that Brahmastra doesn’t live up to the expectations and is a big letdown.
Twitter Review
One word Review: MESS#Brahmastra: ?½ (1.5/5)#BrahmastraReview
Right from the opening scene lacking in connect with the audience. 30 mins story stretched to a 2.5hr movie?
A few bright spots can't save it from clunky writing.
?Highly disappointed? Wasted a stellar cast— Light Yagami (@Light_Yagamind) September 8, 2022

My friend who watched #Brahmastra ignoring all my warnings said, "It is an assualt on all senses. BGM is too loud & everything is so bloody red in d movie that your eyes start hurting after a point. It is a pointless film that has nothing to do with Hinduism." #BrahmastraReview

Finally watched the movie. Not expected the worst level of screenplay. The story is not up to mark. The only best thing in the movie is SRK's cameo. The run time could have been trimmed 20-25 minutes.

#Brahmastra has been watched and it deserves a theatre watch. #AyanMukerji has delivered what he promised he will. The movie is not flawless ofcourse, but this #AliaBhatt and #RanbirKapoor starrer is good. Watch out for the full review! #BrahmastraReview pic.twitter.com/dstypgdR1H

#Brahmastra Misses The Target. You had all the Astras (money, starcast, vfx…) to make this a great cinematic experience except for Scriptastra.#BrahmastraReview pic.twitter.com/GKM4ACu8Kh
