11-YO Athlete From Philippines Wears Shoes Made Of Bandages To Race, Wins 3 Gold Medals

An 11-year-old athlete from the Philippines showed the real meaning of hard work and dedication in achieving a goal. Rhea Bullos a young athlete has taken the Internet by storm as she wins a race barefoot in her ‘bandage shoes’.

According to sources, Bullos won three gold medals in the 400-meter, 800-metre, and 1,500-metre competitions at the Iloilo Schools Sports Council Meet.

The incident earned the spotlight when someone from the audience recognized her feet when the young girl was seen sitting and watching the rest of the race.

Hard work and dedication

The footwear she ran on was made of bandages and the best things are that she added her own ‘Nike’ logo on the fronts of the bandages that covered just her ankles and soles.

Bullos’ trainer expressed his pride in the athlete. He said, “I’m glad she won. She worked hard to train. They only get tired when training because they don’t have shoes.”

Thanks to netizens, the 11-year-old athlete was sponsored by a local mall. Rhea was taken to the SM Store in SM City Iloilo where she was bought a new pair of shoes, socks and a sports bag.
