Of course, almost every time that a new cabinet rolls over, there is a general notion of disagreement amongst the citizens. There is dissatisfaction and unfortunately, this is how it would stay in a democracy.
However, a fictional idea happened to cross our minds in which, a few well-known personalities would take over ministries in their field of expertise.
Agreed that it is unlikely to happen for real. Nevertheless, based on their exemplary achievements so far, these assets of Karnataka would be perfectly fit to handle these important portfolios in our state. Although we cannot comment on their administrative capabilities, the following achievers do have it in them to help Karnataka become a better state with their experience and inputs.
Chief Minister – Upendra
With his dive into politics, this scenario has a faint chance of possibility, at least in the distant future. That being said, with Uppi’s innovative ideas and the capability to inspire youth, he would be the ideal candidate to lead our state.
Finance – Nandan Nilekani
Although he may have lost the elections previously, Nandan Nilekani would be a good option to take care of the finances in our state. He has held responsible jobs in the past and if he can understand the ground issues in the rural areas, we could have a good Finance Minister for our state.
Home – BB Ashok Kumar
One of the best police-officers that our state has seen, his ‘khadak’ personality is necessary for any person occupying this important position.
Urban Development – Baadal Nanjundaswamy
Well, apart from making sure that the necessary is fulfilled, Baadal Nanjundaswamy would make everything look beautiful and colorful in our state. At least, the potholes will be fixed as soon as he takes charge.
Youth Affairs and Sports – Anil Kumble
A man who is highly respected across the country, Anil Kumble would be the perfect candidate to handle the youth affairs and development of sports in Karnataka.
Education – Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw
A successful entrepreneur by profession, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw can be a good minister in the cabinet with her ideas about the kind of higher education our youth deserve.
IT & BT – NR Narayan Murthy
Well, there is absolutely no competition in this portfolio as NR Narayan Murthy is miles apart eligible for this post.
Health – Dr. Devi Shetty
One of the most well-renowned surgeons across the country, Dr. Devi Shetty is capable of making sure every citizen is assured of timely and adequate medical support.
PWD, Additional Charge of Social Welfare – Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade
A legend that he is, Dr. D Veerendra Heggade is a character that everyone would sit and listen to, something very few in the state has been able to achieve so far.
Transport – Captain Gopinath
Maybe not his exact forte, but Captain Gopinath would definitely have ideas in improving the commute within the state.
Kannada and Culture – Chandrashekar Kambar
A Jnanapith Awardee, this man is the perfect ambassador and a ministerial candidate for Kannada and Culture within the state.
Science – CNR Rao
Again, there is no competition here too! CNR Rao is a recipient of the Bharat Ratna and his expertise in the field of science is just beyond the reach of many.
Women and Children Welfare – Sudha Murthy
She has done plenty of welfare activities in the past, especially in the Women & Child sector. Hence, we felt she would be a perfect fit in this role.
Environment – Saalumarada Thimmakka
It is just an idea but if we can have a character and achiever like Saalumarada Thimmakka sit in this position, Karnataka’s natural resources are bound to be safe.
